Management Structure

SOS is a parent managed Preschool. The Management Committee consists of seven parents who represent the entire parent body. The policies and financial management of the Preschool are decided by the Committee Everyone is encouraged to contribute suggestions and ideas to the Management Committee through the Director. Alternatively, a letter to the Committee.

We can only progress with the help of every family.

The Committee is elected annually at the Annual General Meeting (A.G.M) which is held at the beginning of each new year (around March). To be eligible to nominate for a position on the Committee or to vote in the election for Committee members at the A.G.M. you must be a financial member of the company. Membership fee is currently $1 per annum. Applications for membership are available from the Director.
The Committee meets regularly (usually every 6 weeks).

It is the role of the Preschool Director, Eliza Needs to manage the day-to-day operations of the service and liase with the parent management committee about any decisions or incidents that affect the day-to-day running of the preschool.

Preschool Staffing

SOS Preschool provides families with the assurance of stable and consistent staff, which fosters a secure and supportive environment that promotes children’s learning and development. Our staff are committed to providing high quality early childhood education to preschool children by:

  • Providing higher adult/child ratios than is recommended under the National Quality Framework (NQF);
  • Ensuring each group has a university trained teacher;
  • Attending regular training and professional development;
  • Keeping up to date with the latest educational practices and principles;
  • Working collaboratively reflecting on practices;
  • Working collaboratively with other professionals in the community to support the individual needs of children
