Learning outcomes are most likely to be achieved when early childhood educators work in partnership with families. To work together to construct curriculum and learning experiences relevant to children in their local context– Early Years Learning Framework
Parents are welcome to participate in the daily life at SOS. Your input into the curriculum is greatly valued. Share your thoughts, ideas and skills with staff so that we can include the aims you have for your child within the daily curriculum.
SOS is a parent managed preschool. The management committee consists of a minimum seven parents who represent the entire parent body. The policies and financial management of the Preschool are decided by the Committee. Everyone is encouraged to contribute suggestions and ideas to the Management Committee through the Parent Liaison Officer or the Directors.
The Committee is elected annually at the Annual General Meeting (A.G.M) which is held at the beginning of each new year (around March).
The Preschool staff/committee organises some family social functions throughout the year eg. New parent evenings, information for parents evenings, fundraising events, end of year celebrations. The support of families at these events helps maintain a community spirit, as well as, getting to know your child’s friends and teachers.
We understand that time is a precious commodity, any contribution is greatly appreciated.
